This group consist of six people at present. The aim of the group is to deliver professional information on transgender and intersex issues for people working with trans or intersex persons, organizations or other groups.
Our activities cover a wide range of topics and formats, ranging from one hour talks to weekend workshops. Our fundamental concept is to question the two gender norm as something naturally given.
In our workshops or talks we always try to show how many ways there are to live a trans identity and what kind of difficulties and discriminations trans people face. Moreover we try to sharpen the perception of non-trans people for the needs that arise from a trans identity. We comprehend diversity as one of our fundamental concepts and try to work on prejudice and against stereotypes about trans people.
Organizations we have worked with include Gleich\& Gleich a youth welfare service providing shelter and housing for gay youngsters, the GEW (labor union for education and science) and the Berlin police.
In 2004 we were working together with the Berlin Senate on a conference on Trans- and Intersexual issues for people working in social, psychological or pedagogical fields. The conference was held in November.
